ABOUT THE ROLE
This position is part of DATA4’s Technical Department. Reporting to the Head of Design & Construction for Southern Europe, the Junior Project Manager plays a hands-on role, primarily supporting the Senior Project Manager during the handover phase of data center construction projects in Italy.
The role offers exposure to the entire project lifecycle — from permitting and design through to final delivery — providing an opportunity to learn, grow, and gradually assume greater responsibility.
It represents an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with strong potential and initial experience in construction or real estate development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Junior Project Manager will contribute to the delivery of Design & Construction projects in Italy, ensuring that quality, cost, and deadlines are met, in close coordination with the Senior Project Manager.

2. Global campus works (underground networks, utilities, etc.)

5. Fit-out works post-delivery (data halls, offices)
Supported by:
6. A Senior Project Manager (direct mentoring and supervision)
7. External consultants (architects, PM firms, H&S coordinators, commissioning agents)
8. The internal DATA4 engineering team (design validation, procurement, commissioning…)
MAIN ACTIVITIES – DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
Administrative Phase
9. Support in managing administrative procedures (permits, regulatory approvals)
10. Coordinate with architects, design firms, and authorities until permits are granted
Design Phase
11. Participate in client and internal stakeholder meetings to define requirements
12. Follow up on technical design and ensure alignment with project needs
13. Act as a liaison between Design and Operations teams
Construction & Commissioning Phase
14. Assist in monitoring daily progress on site with the Senior PM
15. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and construction standards
16. Coordinate with key service providers (utilities, control offices, design firms, etc.)
17. Help interface with clients (hyperscalers and large accounts) throughout the project
18. Participate in the commissioning process and internal technical handover preparation
Handover & Project Reception
19. Support the handover process from construction to operations
20. Assist in collecting and verifying technical documentation (as-built drawings, procedures, training materials)
21. Coordinate with the Operations team to ensure smooth knowledge transfer
22. Participate in client reporting and ensure all required deliverables are completed and handed over
23. Support in organizing training and site onboarding sessions for operational teams
Project steering & support
24. Participate in project meetings and assist in documenting decisions and follow-up actions
25. Help prepare project reports in English for both internal stakeholders and clients
26. Assist in budget tracking and updates, in collaboration with Finance and Project teams
27. Contribute to improving project management tools and processes
Additional missions
28. Support efforts related to sustainability certifications (e.g., BREEAM)
29. Assist in implementing environmental policies (waste management, carbon reduction)
30. Participate in Sales and Pre-Sales activities for complex technical offers
31. Contribute to customer audits if needed
32. Help deploy internal tools (e.g., Oracle, Unifier) for project risk, reporting, and budget tracking

REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
44. Engineering degree (civil, electrical, generalist, or urban planning/development)
45. 5 years of experience, ideally with exposure to construction or real estate development projects
46. First operational experience (internship or junior role) in construction, site supervision, or project coordination
47. International exposure or adaptability to multicultural environments is a plus
Technical Skills
48. Fluent/native in Italian (mandatory)
49. Fluent in English (mandatory) – strong written and oral communication skills
50. Familiar with technical construction fields: HVAC, electrical (CFO/CFA), safety, structure, finishing works
51. Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD
52. Knowledge of Oracle or Unifier is a plus
