NEXTCHEM, a company of the MAIRE Group dedicated to Sustainable Technology Solutions, is seeking a dynamic and innovative Proprietary Equipment Buyer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development and optimization of cutting‑edge technologies aimed at advancing the energy transition agenda. The candidate will become part of the NX Engineering District of Catania having the opportunity to work on innovative and novel technologies to fully enable the energy transition. The Recruitment process is managed by Key2People, a partner of NEXTCHEM.
Within the Procurement Department, the Purchasing Material Buyer is responsible for the purchasing activities of assigned Purchase Requisitions in compliance with Corporate and Project Procedures and under the supervision of the Purchasing Group Leader. Within NextChem S.p.A., the centralized PEQ function has the mandate to set up the strategy and execute its supply chain for proprietary and critical equipment. The different businesses of NextChem are assisted on the sourcing side of proprietary and critical equipment by dedicated PEQ managers. The buyer PEQ will report to the assigned PEQ manager and support them in the procurement sourcing process.
Responsabilities
Ensure that suppliers are properly qualified in the group systems and coordinate field visits with the Inspection and Qualification department.
Prepare bidder lists and Issue Requests for Quotation for itemized proprietary and critical equipment, leveraging the e-Procurement System.
Receive offers, track and archive them in group systems; liaise with technical departments to evaluate offers.
Issue commercial evaluations to the PEQ manager for strategizing and decision making.
Cooperate with Project Teams to highlight reasons of extra budgets and propose mitigation actions.
Provide cost input in proprietary and critical equipment cost models for internal reference and budgeting.
Manage operational relationship with suppliers and conduct negotiations in alignment with the PEQ manager.
Assist in the customization of back‑to‑back contracts for specific products, projects or suppliers.
Issue purchase orders in SAP once the project number is available; issue purchase orders autonomously if products are covered by a detailed agreement.
Gather supplier data of interest (revenues, intake, delivery and quality KPI’s). Assist in liaising with NextChem company functions (business development, engineering, legal, project control).
Assist in drafting the recommendations for award and handover of placed contracts to the post order function.
Report on buying activities and secure compliance with internal procedures and protocols.
Support and cooperate with the Project Procurement Manager / Coordinator during the development of supplies in case of commercial problems with vendors.
Qualifications and Required Skills
4 / 5 years of Purchasing experience in an international, challenging environment.
Experience in end-to-end tender management (RFx Process) and e-procurement systems knowledge.
Design experience in engineering departments and experience in preparing and executing negotiations with suppliers on costs and contracts Terms & Conditions.
SAP knowledge for supplies management and contract preparation.
Ability to interface and manage Internal Stakeholders and manage multiple priorities. Problem solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in the English language.
Team player with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
Good computer skills, proficient with MS Office applications and SAP.
Availability to travel for short periods in Italy and abroad.
Education: University Degree in Business & Economics Engineering is a plus.
