THE DIFFERENCE YOU WILL MAKE
We are looking for an IT Developer to join our technology team as a development partner alongside our existing senior developer. This is a hands‑on, code‑every‑day role focused on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce in a B2B e‑commerce environment. You will work in a paired programming model — collaborating on architecture decisions, conducting code reviews, and sharing ownership of the platform that drives our customer experience.
This position focuses on learning, consistent execution, and visible progress under guidance from senior developers and IT leadership.
The successful candidate will demonstrate reliability, curiosity, and follow‑through. They will be expected to work in‑office regularly to collaborate with peers, maintain consistent communication, and build a strong foundation of software development practices and habits.
CORE FUNCTIONS OF THIS ROLE
* Development and Engineering
* Design, develop, and maintain customizations and extensions within the D365 Commerce platform for B2B e‑commerce operations
* Work in a paired programming model with the senior developer — shared code ownership, real‑time collaboration, and mutual code review
* Build and maintain integrations between D365 Commerce, D365 Finance & Operations, Avatax, EDI systems, and third‑party platforms (punchout catalogs, payment processors, shipping APIs)
* Develop and optimize invoice logic, charge allocation, surcharging, and order processing workflows
* Troubleshoot and resolve production issues including silent integration failures, data mismatches, and batch job errors
* Write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and automated validation for critical business logic
* Code Quality and DevOps
* Conduct thorough code reviews and participate in pull request workflows through Azure DevOps (ADO)
* Manage ADO tickets, branches, and deployment pipelines for development, testing, and production environments
* Contribute to source control strategy including data warehouse migration to version‑controlled repositories
* Identify and remediate technical debt, improve error handling and logging, and enforce coding standards across the codebase
* Collaboration and Problem‑Solving
* Partner with the VP of Technology on architecture decisions, sprint planning, and priority calls across a 20+ project portfolio
* Support e‑commerce administration, catalog management, and search configuration alongside the team
* Participate in root cause analysis for production incidents and contribute to runbook development for recurring issues
Documentation & Accountability
* Build and maintain clear and current documentation for all code, configurations, and processes.
* Log work consistently using designated tools (DevOps).
* Contribute to shared team documentation repositories and internal knowledge bases.
Professional Development
* Demonstrate continuous learning and growing proficiency in one or more focus areas (web, integration, data, or cloud).
* Accept feedback and coaching with a growth mindset and follow through with visible progress.
* Participate in assigned training or certification paths as directed.
* Follow all Millcraft policies, procedures, and guidelines as outlined in the employee handbook and departmental SOPs.
* Ensure a safe working environment by strictly following all safety protocols and standards including reporting unsafe conditions, near‑misses and incidents immediately to your manager.
* Demonstrate the Millcraft Core Values (Family, Responsible, Passion, Deliver, Aspire and FUN) in day‑to‑day work and interactions.
* All other duties, per the needs of the business.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
* 5‑8+ years of professional software development experience
* 3+ years working directly with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce (not just F&O — Commerce‑specific experience required)
* Strong experience with B2B e‑commerce workflows: customer‑specific pricing, trade agreements, catalog management, punchout catalogs, and order processing
* Proficiency in X++, C#, and the D365 Commerce SDK / CSU (Commerce Scale Unit) extension model
* Hands‑on experience with D365 Finance & Operations integration patterns (data entities, Synapse link, OData, batch jobs)
* Working knowledge of Azure DevOps for source control, CI/CD pipelines, and work item tracking
* Experience with SQL Server and data warehouse concepts
* Strong debugging skills — comfort tracing issues across integrated systems (D365, tax engines, EDI, payment gateways)
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in deliverables
* Consistent follow‑up and proactive communication with peers and management
* Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to work constructively with technical and business‑minded team members
* Reliable time management and ability to work on‑site regularly (minimum 3 days per week)
* Willingness to take direction, ask questions, and document learning
NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with Avatax or similar tax engine integrations
* Experience with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) implementation and troubleshooting
* Familiarity with e‑commerce search platforms and product catalog optimization
* Experience with credit card surcharging logic, payment gateway integrations (SensePay/SensePOS or similar)
* Microsoft certifications in D365 Commerce or Finance & Operations
WHAT WINNING LOOKS LIKE
* Within 30 days: Onboarded to the codebase, ADO workflows, and dev/test/prod environments. Paired with the senior developer and contributing to active code reviews.
* Within 60 days: Independently owning features and bug fixes within the D365 Commerce platform. Contributing to at least one critical‑path project.
* Within 90 days: Full development partner — sharing workload equally with the senior developer, leading technical decisions on assigned projects.
GROWTH PATH
* Application Developer (Integrations, Logic Apps, APIs)
* Frontend Developer (UX/UI, ecommerce)
