Job Description: Data Scientist
Location: San Vito dei Normanni, Italy (Hybrid)
*we require on-site presence at our San Vito dei Normanni (BR) office one week every 6 weeks of remote work*

Problem Solving & Analysis: Partner with stakeholders to understand business challenges, translate them into quantitative questions, and identify the most effective data and modeling approaches to answer them.
Data Exploration & Preparation: Source, clean, and transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources to prepare it for analysis and modeling.
Modeling & Machine Learning: Design, build, validate, and deploy machine learning models to solve business problems.
Experimentation: Design and analyze A/B tests and other experiments to measure the impact of new features, products, and strategies.
Insight & Communication: Communicate complex findings and the "story" behind the data in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to both technical and non-technical audiences. Create visualizations and dashboards to democratize data insights.
Production & MLOps: Collaborate with data and software engineers to deploy models into production environments, monitor their performance, and maintain them over time.
Develop Predictive Models: Design, build, and deploy machine learning models to predict key business outcomes like customer churn, user engagement, lifetime value (LTV), and campaign success rates.
Innovation & Research: Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI, and actively explore new tools and techniques to improve our capabilities.
Master's or PhD degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in a data science or analytics role.
Strong programming skills in Python and its data science libraries (e.g., SQL/NoSQL Expertise: Advanced proficiency in SQL/NoSQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
Machine Learning Fundamentals: Solid understanding of core machine learning concepts and algorithms (e.g., Strong foundation in statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Deep Learning (TensorFlow, PyTorch), Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Big Data Technologies: Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and their machine learning services (e.g., MLOps & Deployment: Experience with model deployment, containerization (Docker), and ML workflow tools (e.g., Data Visualization Tools: Proficiency with BI and visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
