Responsibilities include:
1. Determining project scope, evaluating products, drafting test plans, and defining sample requirements based on client requests and standards.
2. Operating within North American safety schemes, primarily UL 1004-1 standards.
3. Planning project efforts and schedules independently.
4. Communicating with clients about progress, UL procedures, and technical issues.
5. Preparing testing documentation and instructions for laboratory activities.
6. Developing customized test methods and setups for safety and performance testing.
7. Providing technical support to laboratory and field staff.
8. Serving as Project Handler and Reviewer as assigned.
9. Implementing continuous improvement practices.
10. Proposing updates to UL requirements.
11. Traveling for testing at client sites may be required.
12. Representing UL at industry events such as seminars and trade shows.
13. Collaborating with global technical leaders on product-specific requirements.
14. Training staff and entry-level engineers.
Qualifications:
* Master's or bachelor's degree in STEM or related work experience.
* Ability to read electrical schematics and bills of materials.
* Proficiency in Italian (C1) and fluent in English.
* Ability to manage multiple projects with high quality and customer service.
* Effective communication skills for interaction with international colleagues and clients.
* Interest in continuous learning about standards and product architecture.
* Ability to work in an international, multicultural team.
Preferred additional skills:
* Specialization in electrical motors.
* Experience with UL/IEC/EN standards.
* Knowledge of laboratory equipment.
* Experience in the TIC sector.
