Join to apply for the Senior Application Support Engineer role at Global Blue\n2 weeks ago Be among the first 25 applicants\nDirect message the job poster from Global Blue\nNature and aim of the position\nGlobal Blue, a leading provider of payment card processing services and a subsidiary of the Global Blue Group, a leading provider of Global Tourist Tax Free processing services, is seeking an experienced Applications Support Engineer to provide technical applications management support for core payment applications and solutions.\nIn this role, you will work closely with the Manager Applications Support, our Infrastructure and internal development teams and our IT operations teams.\nTo succeed, you should possess experience in managing applications support teams and have an extensive background with providing application support in a fast-paced environment and a proactive approach to managing application support tasks.\nMain Duties and Responsibilities Providing software application support as directed by Manager Applications Support.\nPerform analyses of software application functionality and suggest improvements.\nConsult as required with software vendors, software development teams, internal users, and clients to improve application performance.\nEstablish root causes for application errors and escalate serious concerns to management.\nKeep records of configuration changes and schedule application updates.\nDocument processes and monitor application performance metrics.\nProviding technical support to clients and internal users in other departments.\nAssisting with systems integrations.\nMaintain and update technical documents and procedures.\nTeam IT Infrastructure.\nTeam Platform and Product Development.\nTeam IT Operations Finance.\nTeam External Software Vendors. Minimum qualifications Minimum 3-year L2 Application Support experience.\nWorking knowledge of payment clearing and settlement processes highly desired.\nWorking experience with Microsoft Operating Systems and SQL (MS or Oracle Database).\nWorking experience in either Splunk, MFT or Control-M is advantageous. Preferable Skills and Competencies Demonstrable experience as an Application Support Engineer.\nExperience with system monitoring, alert and log-file troubleshooting.\nAbility to manage code migration, document configuration changes, and monitor application performance.\nLinux shell scripting experience.\nAdvanced SQL scripting; basic Java or C programming skills.\nWorking experience on monitoring tools like Splunk, Control-M is highly preferred.\nCompetency to provide broader support across internal departments.\nExceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills.\nExperience in payment processing business is highly preferred.\nStrong organizational skills with ability to prioritize workload.\nMaturity in managing expectations: change requests, dealing with unexpected incidents, and supporting technical issues through to resolution.\nDetail-oriented, with high quality standards and accuracy in work; independent, goal-oriented and self-motivating.\nExcellent in English (written and spoken); other languages are desirable. Education and Background Qualifications\nThe incumbent should be a university graduate and hold qualifications in IT, computing and/or engineering with 3 years’ experience working as an Application Support Engineer.
