Job Summary
Due to continued growth, we are now looking to strengthen our Railway Systems capability and support the growth and the delivery of existing and new projects in Italy. The role we are seeking to fill is that of a Railway Signaling and/or Communications Engineer with knowledge of specific systems design for RFI/Italferr projects.
He/she will work on the delivery of projects providing technical support on signaling systems, communications and control systems, and engineering services to the project deliverables in compliance with the relevant standards and directly to the client as required.
Main duties:
- Liaises with the client and the supplier to ensure that the design meets the requirements and that it is approved by the Sponsors.
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
- Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects Computi Metrici Estimativi (RFI/Italferr projects).
- Provides input to the development of the engineering budget by attending to the field site surveys.
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Prepares technical specification sections.
- Knowledge of Electrical Subsystems (Luce e Forza Motrice) Italian Legislation.
Minimum Requirements
* +5 years of related experience
* Experience in developing one or several technologies of Signaling (ERTMS, BACC, RSDD/SCMT, SCC)
* Experience in developing Communications Systems such as Data Transmission Network (MPLS/SDH), Radio systems (GSM-R), Telephone and Intercom Systems, Customer Information System, Public Address and Voice Alarm.
* Provide expertise and advice on good engineering practice, potential solutions, railway standards and Italian legislation.

Telecom, Electrical, electronical engineer or similar
