We are looking for Service Engineers or Superintendents with a background in Mechatronics or Electrical & Automation to join our Global Field Service Team. The preferred location for this position is Trieste (Italy) but also Genova (Italy) and Fareham (UK) are negotiable. Remote work is possible when not onsite/in the field.
Responsibilities
Perform commissioning, overhauls, troubleshooting, on‐site repairs, audits/analysis, upgrades and retrofits.
Work across marine and land‐based sites with Wärtsilä's newest engines and equipment.
Diagnose complex issues and implement sustainable, customer‐centric solutions.
Document work, share learnings, and contribute to continuous improvement and best practices.
Qualifications
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or comparable know-how gained in the field.
Solid English skills (spoken and written) to collaborate with customers and colleagues.
Strong technical problem‐solving and a hands‐on, flexible approach.
Willingness to learn and adapt to fast‐changing environments.
Readiness to travel about 200–230 days/year, including abroad.
Nice to have
Mechatronics or Electrical & Automation competence.
Previous field/onboard vessel experience.
