Overview
Join an international logistics leader as a Naval Technical Support Engineer in Genova. This role is focused on providing IT support to ensure uninterrupted operations both at the Genova office and across the fleet. It's a hands-on position where you'll resolve day-to-day issues while gaining the skills to advance into more complex areas of IT systems and naval connectivity.
Responsibilities
* Provide IT helpdesk support for users in the Genova office as well as crew members across the fleet. Handle incidents and service requests related to hardware, software, and applications.
* Manage user accounts, email setup, and permissions through Active Directory.
* Support connectivity troubleshooting (LAN, VPN, VSAT / Starlink).
* Document solutions and share knowledge with the team.
* Occasionally travel (1-2 times per year) to on board vessels to perform specific IT support or installation activities.
* Assist senior engineers in IT projects and upgrades, gaining exposure to infrastructure, security, and cloud systems.
What you bring
* Previous experience in IT helpdesk / technical support.
* Basic knowledge of Windows environments and networking.
* Problem-solving skills and ability to communicate with non-technical users.
* Experience in the marine / naval industry is a must.
* Open to relocation to Genova, Italy, and occasional short business trips on board vessels.
