Storage and Dispatch Product Line Procurement Manager
Job Summary: This position will lead the storage and dispatch procurement team for a large global OEM cement company. The role will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize spend and improve supplier performance in the areas of manufacturing, subcontracting, inventory management, and distribution services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency within the storage and dispatch product line.
- Manage and oversee the tactical activities of the procurement team, including budget planning, vendor selection and contract negotiation, and supplier performance evaluation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead cross-functional projects aimed at increasing operational efficiencies and reducing waste.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as operations, finance, and IT, to ensure alignment between procurement objectives and overall business goals.
- Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to identify emerging technologies and innovative solutions that can enhance supply chain operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while negotiating favorable pricing terms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in strategic procurement, preferably in the logistics and transportation industry.
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings through strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Strong leadership skills, with ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of procurement software systems, such as SAP Ariba or Coupa, is a plus.
