Materials Engineer
to support the development and industrialization of advanced materials used in upper-limb prosthetic technologies. The role will focus on the
selection, characterization, and optimization of polymeric and elastomeric materials
used in components that interact with users and are exposed to mechanical, environmental, and wear stresses. The candidate will work at the intersection of
quality, production, and supply chain
, contributing to improving the performance, reliability, and manufacturability of key components within our devices.
Key Responsibilities Support the
selection and validation of polymeric and elastomeric materials
used in device components; Collaborate with quality and production teams to
optimize manufacturing processes
involving rigid structural polymers, as well as flexible and soft materials; Define and oversee
material testing protocols
(mechanical, environmental, durability); Work with external suppliers to
evaluate material properties and manufacturing feasibility
; Analyze
field feedback and material-related failure modes
related to materials and propose corrective actions; Contribute to
process improvement initiatives
aimed at enhancing the quality and the consistency of material-based components; Support
Design for Manufacturability (DfM)
activities during product development; Support
root-cause investigations
related to material performance, manufacturing variability, and field feedback; Document material specifications, validation activities, and technical reports.
