Join the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) within the Media & Entertainment team as a Senior Database Specialist Solutions Architect—a senior individual contributor role requiring deep technical expertise in Database technologies and Data Architecture and Data foundation for AI.
The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is part of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), responsible for driving revenue and accelerating adoption across enterprise customers. We work backwards from our customers' most complex migration challenges to develop and execute go‑to‑market plans that transform legacy infrastructure into modern, cloud‑native architectures. As part of WWSO, you will contribute across the full lifecycle of AWS customer migration initiatives—from initial assessment to post‑migration optimization.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Translate customer infrastructure challenges into comprehensive data architecture strategies leveraging AWS.
- Define and design large‑scale Database/Data architectures that accelerate adoption of AWS services across storage, data, and analytics domains.
- Engage with senior engineers, architects, data leaders, and executives at strategic enterprise customers to influence migration decisions and provide structured feedback to AWS product teams.
- Collaborate with business development colleagues to provide technical input into migration GTM strategy and support field marketing through technical events, campaigns, and customer engagements.
- Lead complex database architecture and problem solving to unblock customers' most critical data needs and modernization initiatives.
- Design and execute data migration strategies; design and implement relational and non‑relational data architectures.
- Represent the voice of the customer and collaborate with field and central teams to bring migration feedback to product teams.
- Act as a thought leader in Database and Data technologies by sharing best practices through AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, migration patterns, and public speaking engagements such as AWS Summits and AWS re:Invent.
- Guide and support an internal AWS community of technical subject matter experts aligned to your customers, including the creation of field enablement materials for the broader Solution Architect population.
- Partner with AWS Database Competency Partners and ISVs to deliver comprehensive data solutions for M&E; customers.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
- 8+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
- Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals.
- Experience working with end user or developer communities.
- Experience communicating across technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients.
- Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS.

Base salary range: USA, CA, Mountain View – 176,600 to 239,000 USD annually; USA, CA, Santa Monica – 153,600 to 207,800 USD annually; USA, NY, New York – 169,000 to 228,600 USD annually; USA, TX, Dallas – 153,600 to 207,800 USD annually.
