Role Description We are seeking a
Senior Hydraulic Engineer
to act as the
system-level owner of hydraulic architecture
for our redox flow battery technology. The role has a
primary focus on containerized systems, while also contributing at
stack level
to ensure proper hydraulic integration, performance consistency, and scalability across the entire system. Reporting directly to the
Head of Product, this position plays a key role in defining system architecture, technical trade-offs, and scale-up strategies. The Senior Hydraulic Engineer will lead hydraulic design choices from concept to implementation, coordinating simulation, testing, and validation activities. The role includes technical leadership of hydraulic topics across the product and direct coordination of a
CFD Engineer, working closely with mechanical, electrochemical, and control teams.
Responsibilities Act as
system-level owner of the hydraulic architecture
for stacks, modules, and containerized systems Define and develop
container-level hydraulic layouts, including piping, manifolds, tank interfaces, valves, sensors, and auxiliary components Contribute to
stack-level hydraulic design, ensuring alignment between electrochemical requirements and system constraints Perform and oversee
hydraulic calculations and design validation
(flow distribution, pressure losses, operating regimes, scalability) Coordinate and technically guide
CFD activities, defining simulation objectives and reviewing results Select and size
pumps and hydraulic components, ensuring system efficiency, reliability, and long-term performance Interface with the
Head of Product
to support system-level design decisions and roadmap definition Support
scale-up activities
from laboratory and pilot setups to full containerized products Prepare
technical documentation, specifications, and internal design guidelines Act as a
technical reference for hydraulic topics
within the organization
Qualifications MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, or related fields 6+ years of experience
in hydraulic or fluid system design at system level Strong expertise in
fluid mechanics and hydraulic system architecture Proven experience coordinating or mentoring
CFD or simulation engineers Proficiency with
CAD tools
and
CFD simulation
environments Ability to operate effectively at
both component and system level Strong engineering judgment and problem-solving skills Experience working in
multidisciplinary R&D environments Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
