We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help. /p pAs an Engineering Operations Engineer, you will operate and maintain AWS DCs’ world‑class mechanical and electrical infrastructure following a process‑oriented approach. In addition, you will oversee facility operations and ensure the implementation of safety procedures. Your work will help maintain availability for customers and ensure the upkeep and operation of the technical infrastructure in the DC. Hear from one of our engineers here: a Video /a. /p h3Key Job Responsibilities /h3 ul liFollow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world‑class safety culture; own safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture. /li liSupport electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPS, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATS, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, exhaust fans, VFDs, and transformers. /li liOperate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment, emergency generators, HVAC and fire/life safety equipment within the data center. /li liTroubleshoot facility and rack‑level events within internal SLAs and perform root‑cause analysis of equipment failures. /li liDrive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities. /li /ul h3Day in the Life /h3 ul liWork rotational shifts of 4 days of 12‑hour shifts (2 days followed by 2 nights) and 4 days off (including nights, weekends and holidays); respond to on‑call rotation for off‑duty emergency calls. /li liTake daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log‑taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.). /li liSupervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance. /li liOccasionally move objects/materials (weight limits in accordance with regulations), work in outdoor weather conditions, work in noisy environments, work at heights and from ladders. /li /ul h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul liUAE National with family book. /li liBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. /li liKnowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, controls) and key electrical competencies and theory. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liExperience leading and managing operations of critical facilities requiring in‑depth knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems. /li /ul h3We’re an Equal Opportunity Employer /h3 pAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
