This includes managing and providing supplies and resources, maintaining art room cleanliness and facilitating or co-facilitating sessions. They will also be responsible for outreach and engagement to current and prospective SPY members, encouraging them to participate in healing arts programming. /p pbWHAT YOU’LL DO: /b /p ul liSPY Member support in the art room and during drop-in service hours to increase their knowledge of what services and resources are available and how to access them. /li liGreet and build rapport with SPY members, helping connect to services, programs, and partners /li liResponsible for tidying the art room and ensuring tools and supplies are cared for /li liAssist visiting facilitators during their sessions and workshops by recruiting member participation, attending sessions, and assisting with set-up and clean-up /li liIn collaboration with community programs, evaluate member needs and requests to identify new workshops and classes to introduce to the Healing Arts program /li liSupport data collection efforts by distributing, collecting, and inputting survey and attendance data /li liEstablish authentic, positive, and supportive relationships with members and provide/welcome feedback /li liPromote and coach peers to engage in their mental health and developmental health management plans and goals /li liFacilitate community members’ access to mental health-related services, including information and instruction on the use of resources, overcoming barriers to obtaining needed care and social services /li liAct as a liaison on behalf of community members to follow up with health management/care plans and providers /li liOther duties as assigned /li /ul pbREQUIREMENTS /b /p pbSKILLS YOU’LL NEED: /b /p ul liA commitment to and a passion for the mission, vision, values, and culture of SPY /li liAbility to work in a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail and effective collaboration with a variety of organizations and individuals /li liWritten and verbal communication skills /li liLife and Lived Experience: have learned lessons from circumstances and others and applied them to personal development /li liAbility to work and communicate respectfully within a context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds /li liExperience using technology; social media, database systems, google, Microsoft /li liAbility to work weekends /li /ul pbWHAT YOU’LL NEED: /b /p ul liBachelor’s degree and 2 years experience in social service setting with youth desirable is preferred, but not required. /li liMinimum of 2 year experience in an educator or employment services environment is required. /li li1-2 years of experience working in homeless services is preferred. /li liStrong computer skills and knowledge including word processing, database operations, spreadsheets and other software systems. /li liAbility to coordinate and/or oversee the successful completion of projects. /li liExperience working with homeless and at-risk youth. /li liGood verbal and written communication skills, including organizational, detail, and interpersonal. /li liMust have reliable transportation, valid California driver’s license and proof of current insurance. /li /ul pbWORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: /b /p ul liProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. /li liChanges in the environment, such as the office or outdoors. /li liPhysical effort/lifting, such as sedentary- up to 15-20 pounds at times. /li /ul pbSPECIAL CONDITIONS: /b /p pbMandated Reporting Requirements: /b The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment. /p pbCOVID-19 Vaccination Requirements: /b Effective August 9, 2021, the State Health Officer has mandated that all workers, paid or unpaid, in homeless services organizations must provide proof of vaccination.
