Regulatory Specialist – San Lazzaro di Savena
We are looking for a professional to join our team as a Regulatory Specialist with a permanent contract. In this role you will ensure and maintain compliance of the company system to legal requirements, acting as an intermediary between the needs of the different functions and the authorities. The position operates across both the food and spirits sectors, with responsibility for the Italian market as well as broader European and extra‑European markets.
Responsibilities
Evaluate current and new products, marketing and promotional materials for compliance with applicable regulations (food law, labeling and advertising) in the regions where marketing wants to distribute them with a global approach.
Keep up to date with national and international legislation and guidelines, and update the business on how changes would affect us (e.g., organizing internal workshops).
Collaborate with Marketing, Trade Marketing and QA overseeing the process of replying to technical documentation requests from customers (importers).
Collaborate with colleagues involved in new product development.
Work with the Regulatory Manager to liaise with regulatory authorities and negotiate for specific authorisations (e.g., product approval).
Develop and write clear arguments and explanations for new product approvals and approval renewals to support the company business.
Study scientific and legal documentation; participate in industry association tables to monitor critical issues for the sector and intervene where necessary (e.g., legislative changes) in collaboration with other associate members.
Gather, evaluate, organise, manage and collect internal and external information to deliver answers and solutions in due time.
Requirements
Scientific degree in chemical and pharmaceutical technologies, biotechnology, food technology, or related fields.
Experience in food industries oriented to foreign markets, preferably with a wide range of products.
At least 2 years of experience preferably in the same role (alternative QA or R&D).
Fluent in English.
IT skills (Office, SAP).
