We are seeking a talented Impact Dynamics Engineer to join our System Design Technologies Team.
The System Design Technologies (SDT) team operates within Advanced Technologies Operations (ATO), maturing next-generation technologies and propulsion systems for future flight, including advanced military and innovative engine architectures.
Impact Dynamics is a critical domain in aircraft engines focused on building models for design assessment, damage calculation, impact loads, ingestion problem-solving, and non-linear dynamic analyses for technology maturation and product support.
The Lead Engineer in Impact Dynamics collaborates with Design, Systems, and Engine Dynamics teams to provide pre-test predictions, make decisions, resolve issues, and contribute to project success within defined parameters.
Job Responsibilities:
* Provide and enhance technical knowledge in Impact Dynamics.
* Lead and execute design, analysis, or evaluation projects adhering to standards and requirements.
* Prepare and present technical data for reviews and meetings.
* Communicate significant issues or developments promptly.
* Ensure proper documentation of technical data.
* Design, develop, and validate methods and tools in Impact Dynamics.
Qualifications:
* Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
* Knowledge of aeronautical engine architecture and systems.
* Experience with impact dynamics engineering roles.
* Proficiency in CAD (NX), CAE/FEA (MSC Nastran, Ansys, Altair Suite), and Explicit Dynamics (LS-DYNA).
* Clear thinking, diligence, and target orientation.
* Passion and curiosity for engineering challenges.
* Teamwork and inclusiveness skills.
* Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
* Work VISA as per local regulations.
Desired Characteristics:
* Experience in engine dynamics.
* Strong knowledge of Matlab and Python.
* Experience in system design optimization.
* Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
* International or multicultural experience preferred.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Willingness to travel.
