We are looking for a Technical and General Services Manager to oversee facility management and technical/general services. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills and a strategic mindset to ensure the efficient and effective running of operations. The manager will lead a team of professionals, including health and safety (HSE) experts, maintenance technicians, and facility leaders, to maintain and enhance machinery, technical infrastructure, facilities, and general services, thereby supporting the organisation's goals and objectives.
Your tasks
1. Drive the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) transformation as we drive a cultural shift in how we continuously improve; be a hands-on team builder able to recognize others’ resistance to change and lead individuals and teams through the change process; apply competence in TPM, combined with on the job expertise and stakeholder input to identify, prioritize and manage multiple improvement projects.
2. Develop and implement strategies for the maintenance and improvement of technical systems, including IT networks, hardware, and software.
3. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure the organization's technical infrastructure aligns with industry best practices and supports business needs.
4. Oversee the implementation of new technologies and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruptions to daily operations.
5. Supervise and coordinate facilities maintenance activities, including building repairs, security, and safety protocols.
6. Lead projects to optimize energy consumption and sustainability.
7. Lead a team of HSE, technical and general services professionals, providing guidance, coaching and performance feedback.
8. Develop and manage budgets for technical and general services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.
9. Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide regular financial reports to the leadership team.
10. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies.
11. Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans for the organization.
12. Provide input on technical and operational aspects to support long-term goals and objectives
Requirements
13. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (preferably Engineering).
14. Proven experience in technical and general services management, with a track record of successful leadership.
15. Strong technical acumen and understanding of IT systems, facilities management, and general operational processes.
16. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
17. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
18. Budget management experience.
19. Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
20. WCM knowledge will be a plus.
