Position Overview :
The Technical Support Specialist ensures proper computer operations for end users to accomplish organizational tasks effectively and efficiently. This position is responsible for receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involve diagnostics, help request tracking tools, and hands-on assistance at the desktop level.
Key Responsibilities :
* Proactively monitor and support end-user hardware and software in a timely manner.
* Prioritize workload to resolve critical issues first.
* Install, upgrade, and configure hardware and software.
* Assist in testing new hardware and software prior to deployment.
* Configure, monitor, and maintain mobile security and virus protection software.
* Maintain hardware and software inventory.
* Install, configure, and troubleshoot content management systems.
* Manage web environment, including internal and external websites, ensuring security, testing, and content updates.
* Backup support for VOIP phones, cellphones, and printers/copiers.
* Develop and maintain user documentation for help desk support.
* Keep equipment operational through repairs, manufacturer instructions, and evaluation of new equipment.
* Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
* Participate in ongoing education and professional development.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including HIPAA and licensing agreements.
* Contribute to disaster preparedness plans to protect equipment and data.
Requirements :
High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s in Computer Science or IT preferred. Minimum two years of related experience; helpdesk/user support experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft products (Azure, Office 365, SharePoint), operating systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills required.
