SMS group S.p.A. is a company of the German group SMS, a worldwide leading company for plant and machinery manufacturing in the steelmaking and non-ferrous material industry, with approximately 14,400 employees worldwide.

SMS group S.p.A. is an Italian company with more than 500 employees across three locations: Tarcento (Udine), San Donato Milanese (Milan), and Genoa. It specializes in producing innovative and turnkey plants, such as hot and cold rolling mills for flat products, process lines, reheating furnaces, heat treatment lines, rolling mills for long products, meltshops, and continuous casting machines.

We are seeking to fill the position of

Project Manager Sales SIE HANDELN

* Represent SMS group towards customers and manage internal project relationships;
* Conduct regular project discussions and negotiations with customers and consortium members, documenting outcomes;
* Hold regular core team meetings and document results;
* Act as the overall sales project leader, functioning as an “entrepreneur inside the company”;
* Understand project goals, requirements, and Bid Budget;
* Define the project strategy (Winning Strategy) in collaboration with the Core Sales Team and the Project Owner Sales;
* Manage the Core Sales Team;
* Authorize project budget allocations (Bid Budget) until the next stage;
* Implement target costing as needed based on project costing and results;
* Serve as the official negotiation point with customers and contract partners for all technical and commercial matters, in cooperation with the Commercial and Technical Managers Sales until contract signing;
* Convene meetings involving the Core Sales Team or contract partners, including risk assessments;
* Adhere to travel guidelines and obtain necessary approvals;
* Request all relevant project data and information;
* Possess written power of attorney for contract negotiations, with legally binding signing authority for the legal entity.

SIE WISSEN

* Graduate or Bachelor/Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field;
* At least 3-4 years of experience in technical sales within complex plant manufacturing companies;
* Experience in analyzing customer requests and preparing technical offers;
* Commercial skills to identify competitive solutions and manufacturing strategies;
* Good knowledge of Mechanical Technical drawings; basic knowledge of Media systems, Electrical, and Automation packages;
* Coordination skills to manage the Proposal project team;
* Willingness to travel worldwide as required;
* Fluent in English; German is a plus;
* Proficiency in Office Suite (including Project) and basic knowledge of SAP;
* Drawing tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, Creo, etc.) are a plus but not required.
