As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Cavotec, you will lead electrical design for shore power and motorized cable reel systems, delivering reliable, cost‑conscious solutions. You’ll own the full design cycle from schematics to BOMs, aligning with project requirements and standards. The role spans order execution, R&D, and product improvement to enable scalable, automated documentation and design processes. You work closely with mechanical engineers and external suppliers to ensure safe, compliant, and high‑impact electrical systems. * Independently design electrical equipment and develop cost-effective technical solutions for customers
* Create and manage electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and BOMs
* Select and validate electrical components based on technical and commercial criteria
* Collaborate with internal teams to gather project data and ensure alignment with requirements
* Support ongoing orders and contribute to product development and optimizationDevelop scalable design structures for automated documentation generation
* Ensure compliance with IEC, UL, CSA, and other standards through external suppliers
* Coordinate with mechanical engineers to align electrical and mechanical goals
* Provide technical support during assembly, testing, and commissioning
* Produce technical documents (Schematics, BOM, Performance Level calculations, System Functional Descriptions)
* Assist with troubleshooting sub-system issues and support sub-suppliers in production
Responsabilità
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical background
* Proven experience in industrial electrical design, preferably mobile or rotating systems
* Strong knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (ABB, Siemens, Vacon, Yaskawa)
* Familiarity with fieldbus protocols (Modbus, Profibus, CANopen, EtherCAT)
* Experience in drive programming and parameterisation
* Basic understanding of PLC programming is a plus
* Proficiency in electrical CAD tools (Zuken E3 preferred, ePlan, SPAC, or similar)
* Fluent in English (spoken and written)
* Strong communication and documentation skills
* Organised, responsive and solution‑driven with a focus on delivering results
