Scope
Dedicated safety professional responsible for all accident prevention, risk management, and compliance.
Duties
* Prepares, updates, and enforces the Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
* Conducts daily safety inspections of worksites and enforces controls.
* Provides immediate correction and stop-work authority in unsafe conditions.
* Ensures compliance with U.S. and Italian safety laws, NAVFAC, and DoD requirements.
* Maintains safety logs, incident reports, and OSHA/DOL reporting.
* Leads Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
* Conducts toolbox safety meetings and coordinates refresher training.
* Investigates accidents and near misses, identifies root causes, and recommends corrective actions.
* Interfaces with the Government Safety Office, providing reports and participating in safety councils.
Mandatory Experience & Certifications
* Level 1 SSHO training and qualifications per EM 385-1-1.
* Continuous learning compliance with EM 385-1-1.
Preferred / Desirable Certifications
* OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety.
* BCSP CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician).
* CSP (Certified Safety Professional).
