Experteer Overview
As a Software Engineer in Smart Manufacturing you will design and implement software for real-time monitoring, analysis, and optimization of production processes. You will work with IoT, data analytics, and machine learning to boost efficiency, traceability, and quality, supporting the factory’s digital transformation. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy scalable solutions and explore new technologies. This role offers international exposure, training, and a path to grow within a global manufacturing leader.
Responsibilities
* Develop, test, and maintain real-time software applications for production data analysis and optimization
* Implement analysis and optimization algorithms integrating IoT and machine learning
* Manage integration between production systems, databases, and quality control applications
* Monitor and troubleshoot software during manufacturing operations to maximize efficiency
* Participate in researching and adopting new technologies to improve the production system
* Short trips to Italian and foreign Operating Units for governance and audit activities
Qualifications
* Master's degree in Computer Science (or Computer Engineering), Electronic/Mechatronic, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Production or related field
* Experience in software development for industrial automation and in using relational and non-relational DBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, AWS S3) for production data
* Advanced programming skills in Python (mandatory), JavaScript, Java or C++, SQL
* Knowledge of IoT technologies and IIoT platforms (Ignition, Kepware)
* Basic knowledge of PLC programming systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and PLC protocols (OPC, S7, OPC-UA, TCP, MQTT)
* Familiarity with DevOps and version control tools (Git)
* Fluency in English
