Reporting to the ABB E-mobility Product Lifecycle Management, you will work alongside our product teams to help launch new products and services, as well as maintain and upgrade our existing offering globally with a first focus in Europe & the US.
You will work within our development programs to support cross-functional teams of Product Managers, R&D; engineers, Quality, Sustainability and Legal.
Responsibilities
Identify and effectively manage regulatory compliance risks across a range of existing and new products, maintaining awareness of the impact of regulation on commercial viability and technological innovation.
Support Sales to align with local standards and regulations regarding technical aspects (e.g., Electrical Standards, Products Standards, Radio Equipment Standards, Local Authority Qualification) to enable sale and installation in a global market.
Provide support and advice on regulatory requirements to ABB E-mobility's business partners.
Identify which regulations apply or will apply to new products or features and assess risks to ensure a compliant launch.
Collaborate cross-functionally throughout the product lifecycle: from design and testing, to launch and post-launch monitoring.
Assist the Product Compliance Engineering Lead in educating teams on compliance and safety risk management according to global and local standards and risk-based decision making for building products and software.
Collaborate to build practical, customer-oriented product solutions while ensuring ongoing compliance.
Work with colleagues in R&D;, Product Engineering and Trade Compliance to stay informed about new and upcoming regulations and guidance from Regulators and industry groups.
Identify related risk typologies and ensure relevant specialist inputs are included in the product lifecycle across areas such as quality, safety, warranty costs, liabilities, sustainability, and others.
Assist Product Managers in developing and maintaining a track of relevant risks across their product, including mitigation plans, action owners and timelines to completion.
Qualifications
Engineering degree with thorough understanding of the regulations applicable to the electronic industry and consumer products.
More than 2 years of qualified experience providing Compliance and Regulatory advice within industry, with familiarity of evolving regulator expectations.
Ability to work autonomously and manage evolving priorities to deliver against the company's strategy, with problem-solving skills and the ability to use regulations and data to drive business decisions.
Practical mindset, proactive hands-on attitude, and experience (or interest) in working in a fast-growing technology-driven environment.
Fluency in English with strong communication, presentation, and networking skills.
Specific expertise on EVSE product documentation for the EU market, such as product safety instructions, product life cycle assessment, packaging regulations, labeling and declaration.
