HT scientists work together to enable interdisciplinary research and foster an open, collaborative environment to promote life science research nationally and internationally. HT also operates National Facilities to make its technologies, methods, and tools available to the national scientific community. The Human Technopole Foundation is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to work within the Data Centre Facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the organization's Cybersecurity strategies to protect digital assets and data. This includes developing security policies, conducting security assessments, responding to incidents, and supporting ongoing security efforts. The Cybersecurity Engineer will work closely with other departments to ensure the robustness of the Institute’s Cybersecurity posture, aligning with industry best practices, and will report to the Cybersecurity Manager. Main tasks and responsibilities: Support the Institute’s Cybersecurity strategies and ensure data protection. Assist the Cybersecurity Manager and relevant teams in executing strategic Cybersecurity initiatives. Help the ICT team implement measures to protect digital assets. Maintain and implement Cybersecurity regulations, guidelines, and procedures. Develop security regulations in collaboration with other departments. Implement security measures and controls. Collaborate with Digital Services to implement and maintain a Change Management Database (CMDB). Work with Network teams to deploy firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs. Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and security breaches. Ensure the security of cloud and on-premise infrastructures. Conduct vulnerability analyses and penetration tests. Apply patches and updates to reduce attack risks. Utilize SIEM tools for incident monitoring. Analyze and contain threats during breaches. Coordinate with CERTs, government, and law enforcement agencies during cyber attacks. Monitor, investigate, and resolve cybersecurity incidents. Intervene in cybersecurity issues as needed. Ensure sensitive data security through encryption and access controls. Comply with data governance regulations for information protection. Assist in ensuring compliance with GDPR, NIS2, ISO27001, CIS, and other relevant laws. Assess cybersecurity risks and conduct periodic audit assessments. Maintain Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. Control user access privileges following guidelines. Raise awareness among employees about cyber risks like phishing and social engineering. Support training and simulated attack exercises. Promote cybersecurity best practices, including strong passwords and multi-factor authentication. Verify user authenticity with robust authentication systems. Stay updated on cyber threats and attack techniques. Analyze dark web and other sources to prevent targeted attacks. Share threat intelligence with other organizations. Mandatory requirements: High school diploma. Minimum 5 years of experience in IT security or Cybersecurity roles, with hands-on experience in threat monitoring, assessment, and response. Strong understanding of Cybersecurity threats, risks, and mitigation techniques. Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and regulations. Expertise in security tools and technologies (e.g., EDR, SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VA-PT techniques). Fluency in English (spoken and written). Fluency in Italian (spoken and written). Preferred requirements: Degree in Computer Science or related field. Experience in a SOC or RED team. Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., Security, SC-200, CEH). Experience in a similar role at a research institute. Organizational and social skills: Analytical and problem-solving skills for complex challenges.
