Job Description
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Senior Brake System Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Pistoia - Italy.

Accountabilities
1. Preparation of system requirements specifications.
2. Analysis of technical proposals from suppliers.
3. Verification of drawings/documents (Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, etc.) for installation and integration onboard.
4. Preparation of functional requirements specifications for integration with TCMS.
5. Preparation and verification of functional and performance test specifications.
6. Attending system stand-alone type tests and reviewing type test reports.
7. Supporting onboard integration and performance type tests.
8. Reviewing design documentation with customers and suppliers.
9. Supporting the homologation process.
Required Skills/Knowledge
* Experience performing the above accountabilities, with at least 5 years in the rolling stock construction industry as a System Engineer for Brake Systems.
* Good knowledge of electrotechnics, electronics, pneumatics, and basic mechanical engineering.
* Knowledge of main regulations/standards (EN50155, TSI Loc&Pass, TSI PRM, etc.) related to onboard railway systems and brake systems.
* Proficiency with office automation software (Word, Excel, etc.).
Desired Skills/Knowledge
* Understanding of RAMS disciplines and onboard communication networks (MVB, Ethernet, etc.).
* Knowledge of electrical/mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, Catia) and simulation tools (Matlab, Simulink).
* Interdisciplinary approach, teamwork attitude, flexibility, result orientation, and willingness to travel occasionally.
Education / Qualifications
Master's Degree in Engineering (preferably in Electrical or Electronics disciplines).
Languages
Proficiency in written and spoken English (at least B2 level).
