From endlessly recyclable aluminum cans, and cups, to aerosol bottles, our goal is to contribute to a better community, society, and world. /p h3Position overview /h3 pAs the Electrical Controls Automation Specialist, you will contribute to the success of Ball by supporting New Build, New Line and Line Conversion start‑up performance, ensuring correct line set‑up, stable early production, and strong technical capability within the team. /p h3Your key responsibilities include: /h3 ul liResponsible for line set‑up and control for new plants, new lines, and line conversions. /li liManage can handling through conveyors and elevators, with ownership of a specific process area based on experience. /li liBalance machine needs with utilities usage and optimise can flow using sensor devices. /li liFocus on efficiency and spoilage during start‑up, with secondary responsibility for utilities, ODM usage, and line transport optimisation. /li liChampion a safety‑first culture and ensure all equipment meets compliance requirements. /li liLead equipment start‑up and ramp‑up activities, providing hands‑on technical support during installation, commissioning, and early production. /li liAct as the on‑site subject matter expert, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and process issues in real time. /li liEnsure electrical and control systems are installed, tested, and tuned; maintain and repair electrical systems (24V–600V), PLCs, sensors, motors, and VFDs. /li liSpecialise in Camera Inspection systems, ensuring correct calibration, validation, and operational reliability. /li liDeliver structured training to operators and mechanics, and support development of SOPs, work instructions, and training materials. /li /ul h3What are we looking for? /h3 ul liMinimum 5 years’ experience in can manufacturing and 5+ years in electrical maintenance. /li liElectrical qualification with strong knowledge of line control systems and PLC devices. /li liHands‑on experience with can‑making equipment, including set‑up, troubleshooting, and optimisation. /li liAbility to train others; Train‑the‑Trainer qualification preferred. /li liStrong computer skills for data analysis and reporting. /li liEnglish communication skills at a communicative level or higher. /li liExperience working in cross‑functional and cross‑cultural teams, with an ownership mindset and focus on continuous improvement. /li /ul pBall Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
