Buyers are responsible for purchasing parts and components. This position requires in-depth research, negotiation skills for supplier contracts, inventory management, quality evaluation, and budget adherence. Buyers must achieve set goals and deliver final results. They will collaborate with the Global Commodity Manager to define commodity strategies.
Responsibilities:
* Report to the Purchasing Manager, manage commodity prices and supply conditions, and establish long-term contracts and strategies;
* Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to prepare forecasts and budgets for assigned commodities;
* Propose cost reduction ideas and lead related projects. Benchmark to identify the most competitive sources, aiming to reduce the number of active suppliers;
* Support the Global Supply Chain Organization in identifying innovative procurement methods, ensuring early supplier involvement in collaboration with the Advanced Purchasing Manager;
* Stay informed about local economic trends to assist the global Commodity Manager in strategic planning considering global economic and business conditions;
* Conduct supplier business review meetings with support from the technical department;
* Create Purchase Orders and follow up to ensure material due dates are met;
* Assist in evaluating suppliers' information security, verifying security elements in contracts with the support of the Local Security Officer (LSO).
