Applicants are invited for appointment as
Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine
(Ref.:532992), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree by research (Ph.D., D.Sc, Dr.P.H. or equivalent) in Public Health, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Data Science, Biostatistics, or related disciplines, with post-doctoral research experience. They should have (i) a strong quantitative and qualitative background; (ii) a track record of publications, (iii) experience in statistical data analysis using R, STATA, SAS or other statistical packages; (iv) excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin); (v) strong problem-solving, organisational and administrative abilities; and (vi) attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team. Prior experience in conducting clinical research, community studies, and health economics analyses will be compulsory.
The appointee will lead and work with a team of researchers on projects related to big data, health economic analyses, large-scale population-based longitudinal studies, and electronic medical records-based cohort studies, particularly in the areas of special educational needs and mental health. He/she will be expected to take the leading role in overseeing research projects and supervising junior research staff. The appointee will be primarily responsible for applied and methodological work in a global study on the economic impact of special educational needs, and will be expected to present research findings in international conferences.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
