Role Purpose :
Responsible for the profitable development of the Italian Marine portfolio.
Execute strategies focusing on risk management, business growth, and profit objectives.
Maximize business value through portfolio optimization, operational efficiency, and risk selection.
Create a work environment that fosters teamwork, innovation, and cooperation.
Leverage technology within the underwriting process to improve efficiency.
Key Accountabilities :
* Underwrite an assigned book of business and accounts.
* Support the Head of Marine in executing the Marine plan, adjusting strategies as needed, and enhancing profitability through product development, pricing, and market analysis.
* Implement underwriting strategies and continuously improve guidelines and processes.
* Contribute to the Marine P&L and key performance metrics.
* Conduct peer reviews within the department.
* Participate in business development and annual planning.
* Provide insurance solutions and broader risk management support to clients with complex risks.
* Support business and marketing plan development, building brand and product awareness through brokers and markets.
* Expand and improve the product range to compete effectively in the sector.
Professional Experience & Skills :
* Extensive Marine underwriting experience in the Italian market.
* Proven ability to generate profitable new business and deliver underwriting profit.
* Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills.
* Technical expertise with analytical skills and ability to connect data analytics with strategic goals.
