To strengthen our service team, we are now looking for a dedicated Service Engineer (m/f/d) to join us in delivering excellence to our customers.
Role Overview
As a Service Engineer, you will play a key role in commissioning and maintaining automation and navigation systems on board vessels. Your work will involve both technical independence and close collaboration with colleagues in Site Management and the technical office. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with shipyards, cruise lines, and merchant vessel operators, ensuring system functionality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform commissioning and field service activities according to the agreed work plan
* Conduct troubleshooting, testing, fine-tuning, and adjustments of automation and control systems
* Carry out installation and pre-commissioning checks and activities
* Perform commissioning and handover of systems to customers and shipyards
* Execute major and complex repairs, including complete overhauls when required
* Lead and manage assigned teams and activities during work execution
* Interact professionally with customers, providing technical support and updates during assignments
* Report on internal and external progress of assigned work
* Prepare and deliver accurate service reports and documentation
* Ensure compliance with NACOS Marine’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines as well as customer site procedures
* Provide advice and promote available products and solutions to customers
Key Requirements
* Degree, diploma, or technical qualification in automation, electrical, or marine engineering (or equivalent experience)
* Minimum of 2 years’ relevant professional experience, preferably on board cruise or merchant vessels
* Understanding of automation and vessel control systems
* Hands-on experience with Platinum, XD-DNA, or Lyngsø automation systems is highly desirable
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
* Willingness to travel frequently and work independently in international environments
* Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus
* Structured, self-driven, and customer-focused mindset
