OverviewBusiness Studies and/or Management Science, Education and/or Teacher Training, Social SciencesDuring the summer period, Nautilus Polisportiva, together with its full team of instructors and volunteers, is engaged in promotional activities related to water sports, particularly sailing, windsurfing, SUP, and kayaking. These activities are mainly aimed at children and young people aged 7 to 13 who attend the club every day, from Monday to Friday, in the mornings from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The activities carried out with these groups of 30–50 children aim to create a fun and stimulating environment where participants can develop and improve their physical skills, learn the basic techniques of navigation, and foster correct and inclusive interpersonal relationships. All activities at sea are carried out safely and are managed through teamwork involving the entire staff. Various types of nautical equipment are used, such as single and collective sailing boats, windsurf boards with different sail sizes, SUP boards, and kayaks. Land-based activities include sports games and educational workshops, particularly focused on environmental themes and sustainability, all led by the staff.Alongside the activities for children, Nautilus also welcomes small groups of people with disabilities, mainly individuals with Down syndrome or autism, two or three days per week. Together with their assistants, they experience short sailing sessions or other beach activities.ResponsibilitiesThe role of the trainee is to support the staff in carrying out all activities with the children, both on land and at sea. While accompanying the instructors, the trainee will interact with all participants in English, thus fostering an international communication environment. In the afternoons and on weekends, the trainee is free to take part in sailing and windsurfing training sessions with Nautilus athletes or to help the staff in the organisation of regattas or other events. During March and April, several training meetings — held via conference call — are planned with the trainees to share methodologies and basic knowledge that will help ensure smooth and rapid integration into the Nautilus staff.QualificationsText references to required studies: Business Studies and/or Management Science, Education and/or Teacher Training, Social Sciences.Additional InformationKeywords: Physical Literacy, Sport Education, Sport 4 All, Environmental Education, Sailing School.
