Your Role
We are looking for a Health & Safety Manager, who will report directly to the Affinity Health & Safety Director. The main function of the role is to ensure that safe working practices are in place for all functions of the business. The resource will be based in Castelgomberto, our dry plant, and will also be responsible for the new Affinity plant in Mantova.
What You Will Do
* Establish KPIs for the site and develop a monitoring / review process.
* Arrange a system of review and principles of CI to drive improvements.
* Manage the Integrated Management System and work towards attaining ISO or equivalent standards.
* Organize and deliver safety training for staff. Identify areas where training / certification is required to meet legal, business, insurance, and moral requirements.
* Establish and maintain communication for safety consultation.
* Maintain strong communication with main stakeholders.
* Promote H&S initiatives to increase awareness and safety culture (BSO).
* Manage visitor and contractor safety processes.
* Record, communicate, and investigate all incidents.
* Ensure compliance with reporting obligations.
* Stay updated with legal and other relevant changes and assess their impact.
* Maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
* Implement and maintain risk management processes.
* Introduce control measures where appropriate.
* Set up and oversee an auditing schedule.
* Participate in Safety Committee meetings and follow up on actions.
* Ensure safety inspections are conducted and documented.
* Define and monitor H&S budgets and CAPEX according to strategy and local needs.
* Monitor performance and communicate effectively with the team.
* Oversee health surveillance and employee wellbeing initiatives aligned with company strategy.
What We Are Looking For
* Occupational Health & Safety Diploma / Master or equivalent.
* ISO 45001 certification.
* Strong analytical, decision-making, prioritization, and planning skills.
* Ability to influence at all levels.
* Transformational leadership qualities.
* Trustworthy, outgoing, and effective communicator.
* Relevant H&S operational experience, preferably in FMCG, Pet food, or Pharma sectors.
