You will be part of a team that's revolutionizing how robots learn, adapt, and interact with their environment. /p pJoin us in building the next generation of intelligent robotics systems that will transform the future of automation and human‑robot collaboration. /p h3Key Job Responsibilities /h3 ul liBuild and lead a team of scientists and developers responsible for foundation model development. /li liDefine the right ‘FM recipe’ to reach industry‑ready solutions. /li liDefine the right strategy to ensure fast and efficient development, combining state‑of‑the‑art methods, research and engineering. /li liLead Model Development and Training: Design and implement the model architectures, training and fine‑tuning the foundation models using various datasets, and optimize the model performance through iterative experiments. /li liLead Data Management: Process and prepare training data, including data governance, provenance tracking, data quality checks and create reusable data pipelines. /li liLead Experimentation and Validation: Design and execute experiments to test model capabilities on the simulator and on the embodiment, validate performance across different scenarios, create a baseline and iteratively improve model performance. /liliLead Code Development: Write clean, maintainable, well‑commented and documented code, contribute to training infrastructure, create tools for model evaluation and testing, and implement necessary APIs. /li liResearch: Stay current with latest developments in foundation models and robotics, assist in literature reviews and research documentation, prepare technical reports and presentations, and contribute to research discussions and brainstorming sessions. /li liCollaboration: Work closely with senior scientists, engineers, and leaders across multiple teams, participate in knowledge sharing, support integration efforts with robotics hardware teams, and help document best practices and methodologies. /li /ul h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul liExperience leading a science team. /li liExperience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language. /li liExperience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning. /li li6+ years of building machine learning models for robotics including LLM, VLM, VLA / LBM and Reinforcement Learning. /li liPhD and 6+ years of applied research experience. /li liExperience in software engineering and business applications. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liExperience with modeling tools such as R, scikit‑learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc. /li liExperience with large‑scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc. /li /ul pAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $165,500 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $286,000 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
