We are seeking a Medication Assistant to join our team!
Schedule : Full-time and Part-time options available : 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am
Responsibilities :
* Provide medication reminders and assistance in accordance with state regulations.
* Administer medications as permitted by state guidelines.
* Order, receive, and ensure availability of medications; communicate with pharmacy as needed.
* Prioritize tasks to deliver optimal resident services as needs evolve.
* Maintain accurate resident records in our digital platform daily, including medication distribution, incidents, and observations, and report changes in residents’ physical or behavioral conditions.
* Perform regular room visits and checks.
* Assist with resident care when necessary.
* Respond promptly and positively to resident requests and emergencies, including pull cords, calls, and family requests.
* Monitor resident safety and well-being; communicate any changes to the Director of Health and Wellness or Wellness Nurse.
* Audit rooms for self-administered medications and ensure compliance with guidelines.
* Maintain open communication with supervisors and peers regarding resident issues.
* Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
* High School Diploma or equivalent; 2-4 years of related experience / training preferred.
* Medication certification as required by state law.
* CNA Certification required.
* Successful completion of ESL medication competency upon hire and as mandated by state regulations.
* First Aid and CPR certifications if required by law or company standards.
* Ability to read, interpret, and communicate complex information clearly.
* Neat appearance and adherence to dress code.
* Strong service orientation, effective communication skills, and the ability to work cooperatively in a team.
* Tactfulness, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
* Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
