There is no limit to how high you can “soar” here at Amazon Air! /p pAmazon Air's (AIR) Network Control Center (NCC) is seeking an Air Operations Controller. This role protects our customers' interest by facilitating the safe, compliant, and on‑time operations of Amazon’s dedicated fleet of aircraft. Air Operations Controllers are relentless problem solvers who proactively seek out and eliminate potential opportunities for network disruption, manage network capacity, and manage inventory levels for Unit Load Devices (ULDs) and bags across our expansive global operations. Air Operations Controllers support leadership by recommending process improvements that enhance safety, reduce cost, and improve overall effectiveness. The NCC is a 24/7 operation. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays. /p h3Eligibility requirements /h3 ul liIndividuals hired into this position will have unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA). For this reason, eligibility for this role will be limited to individuals who pass a security screening, as required by the FAA, DHS, and TSA (as applicable). /li liMust be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable. /li /ul h3Drug Test Requirement /h3 ul liThis position requires an employee’s full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute their job duties to ensure the safety and security of Amazon Air personnel, third‑party contractors, Airport personnel, cargo, and equipment. This position is therefore designated as a safety sensitive position and is subject to mandatory pre‑employment and, where permitted, post‑hire drug testing. /li /ul h3Key job responsibilities /h3 ul liProactively monitor all aircraft movement activity to identify, address, and prevent potential issues /li liMonitor all inbound/outbound customer package movements and elevate issues as required to protect the flight schedule /li liDevelop and execute effective service recovery plans as necessary /li liLiaise with AIR's air carriers, ground handlers, and other service providers to help facilitate on‑time operations /li liContinually assess and communicate the operational status of all assigned flights and/or gateways /li liReview, analyze, and monitor present and forecast weather conditions for all assigned areas of operation /li liPartner with all stakeholders to resolve irregularities, disruptions, cancellations, extended delays, or other impactful issues /li liEscalate significant issues to NCC Air Operations Managers for visibility and resolution /li liMonitor and manage AIR network capacity /li liMonitor and manage capacity of ULDs and bags across the AIR network /li liSupport leadership by analyzing data, preparing reports, and providing other relevant information for operations meetings or executive leadership briefings /li liWork variable shifts which will include days, nights, weekends, and holidays /li liTravel up to 10% of the time /li /ul h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul li2+ years of program or project management experience /li li1+ years of supply chain experience /li liBachelor's degree or equivalent /li li3+ years of experience in one of the following: Transportation Operations Management, Logistics Management, Contingency Management, Aviation Operations Management, Meteorological forecasting and reporting, and/or Network Control Center Operations Management /li liBachelor's Degree or one of the following equivalent experiences: 6 years of aviation‑related military experience, 2 years of Amazon Experience, or any of the following FAA licenses/certificates + 5 years of relevant experience: FAA Commercial Pilot License or greater, FAA Aircraft Dispatcher License, Air Traffic Control Certificate, Air Frame and Power Plant License /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liMaster's degree or equivalent /li li3+ years driving end‑to‑end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership /li li3+ years driving process improvements /li liExperience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization /li liAbility to work independently in high‑pressure environment /li liAbility to exercise sound judgement where clear guidelines may not exist /li liExperience with Microsoft Office suite /li /ul h3EEO Statement /h3 pAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
