The Control Room Operator plays a key role in supporting the Operations Supervisor to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations across a diverse portfolio of power generation facilities. This role is responsible for maximizing revenue delivery, coordinating real-time responses to alarm conditions, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and contractual obligations.
Monitor and operate a wide range of large and small generating assets using multiple monitoring and control platforms.
Evaluate complex operating conditions against regulatory and contractual requirements, including operating contracts, O&M agreements, transmission and scheduling guidelines, and business practice manuals.
Support O&M compliance during equipment changes by enforcing change management policies and safeguarding Generator Owner interests.
Monitor equipment not yet under O&M jurisdiction, identify high-priority alarms, and provide risk mitigation recommendations to commissioning teams.
Operate multiple power plant control systems, understand the behavior and capabilities of each technology, and predict grid responses to control actions.
Implement voltage schedules in line with operating agreements and contracts.
Initiate and document alarm response plans, ensuring timely communication of all required notifications to owners, transmission providers, and scheduling entities.
Perform root-cause and failure analysis using historical data (e.g., inverter trips, MV equipment failures, control system faults), ensuring accurate outage classification and reporting.
Maintain the operator log to track outages, alarms, control actions, contractual changes, and interactions with regulatory bodies.
Experience in power plant operations.
Solid technical knowledge of plant processes, electrical systems, and SCADA.
Strong coordination skills, with a focus on safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
Fluent in Italian and English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.

VBA and/or SQL knowledge is an advantage.
Degree in power systems engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent apprenticeship training.
