Financial Analyst II, Financial Operations and Accounting Analysis
This role supports the accounting functions related to reconciliation, the close process, and accounting. As Amazon continues to grow at over 30% Year-over-Year, this position will also help drive process changes and improvements to support the company's expanding needs. Responsibilities include leasing/finance reporting and asset addition to sub-ledger duties on a large portfolio of technology assets.
* Responsible for ensuring the successful completion of close activities, including data entry, ledger entry, and deliverables review.
* Prepares and reviews complex account reconciliations, financial analyses, and deliverables.
* Acts independently to lead and complete projects with complex objectives.
* Understands relevant accounting principles and can communicate the application of GAAP to peers and business partners.
* Works independently to identify and execute projects and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
* The successful candidate will report to a Finance Manager and collaborate with central accounting, finance operations, and global financial teams to ensure a controlled accounting process for month-end activities, aligned with Amazon’s core principles.
The Financial Analyst will handle month-end activities, review account balances, prepare and review reconciliations, and perform balance sheet analysis.
* Supports management in all aspects of financial accounting, reporting systems, procedures, and policies.
* Manages responses to internal and external audit requirements, ensuring compliance with SOX across all geographies and activities.
* Promotes system and process development within the department to improve efficiency and controls.
* Participates in strategic initiatives and special projects as needed.
* Performs month-end closing of sub-ledgers, general ledger reconciliations, reporting, and balance sheet analysis.
* Ensures financial policies, procedures, and internal controls are in place and effective.
* Builds and monitors performance metrics, focusing on timely delivery of reports and reconciliations.
* Maintains communication with senior finance leaders and participates in process improvements and automation initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting month-end closing activities.
2. Analyzing flux in P&L and balance sheet accounts.
3. Applying accounting knowledge to resolve complex issues and consulting with leadership.
4. Ensuring compliance with policies and controls, and improving processes.
5. Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and addressing issues.
6. Collaborating with auditors and ensuring smooth audit processes.
7. Leading system launches and UAT for new systems and processes.
8. Identifying opportunities for process automation and system enhancements.

Basic Qualifications:
* CA with 5-6 years of accounting experience.
* Proficiency with Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase/Smartview.
* Experience in corporate finance, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
* Ability to use data to influence business decisions.
* Experience in process automation and analysis.
* Experience with month-end closing, sub-ledgers, and balance sheet reconciliations.
