Infrastructure Delivery Technician, AWS Data Centers

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are looking for talented people who want to help with installing cabling and new racks within data centers and ensuring safety, security, and capacity. You will work in a team environment and communicate with cross‑team stakeholders.
Key Job Responsibilities
Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center.
Installation and testing of copper and fiber optic cabling.
Basic build and troubleshooting of network devices.
Managing inventory of related materials.
Adhering to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures.
Physical Requirements
This position has a physical component and may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations.
Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required in accordance with local safety regulations.
Regularly work at heights and from ladders.
Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures.
Location Requirements
Our data centers are located in remote areas outside Milan, where access via public transport may be limited. Therefore, a valid Italian driving license is required for this role.
Work Schedule
This is a 100% onsite in‑person position due to the hands‑on nature of managing mission‑critical infrastructure.
Basic Qualifications
1+ years of structured cabling (Copper/Fiber) installation experience.
Good understanding of industry cable test procedures and equipment for a variety of different cabling systems (Copper/Fiber test equipment, OTDR, network analyzer, VFL etc.).
Ability to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 16 kg with two‑person support or equipment.
Valid Italian driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
Several years of data center structured cabling infrastructure experience.
General comprehension of the various components and sub‑components of data center infrastructure.
