We are looking for an enthusiastic Payload System Engineer who will be part of our Systems Engineering Unit, contributing to the development of innovative and exciting space missions based on Small Satellites, with a primary focus on the payload suite and its integration with the rest of the spacecraft. /p h3DUTIES /h3 ul liPayload sub‑system level activities, from analysis to integration and testing at spacecraft level; /li liPayload, technologies and performance selection according to the mission/client requirements; /li liServe as the primary reference for all payload‑related activities throughout the spacecraft development phases, and act as the technical interface with both suppliers and clients; /li liContribution to the opto‑electronic system engineering plans from optical to sub‑system, including design and development plan, and verification plan; /li liDefinition and management of technical requirements and specifications; /li liDay‑to‑day coordination with the Technical Responsible, Program Manager, Unit Heads, and Subsystem Engineers; /li liDefinition and management of concepts of operations and mission profiles in terms of payload subsystems, including in‑orbit commissioning; /li liManagement of payload sub‑system architectures; /li liManagement of technical and programme trade‑off; /li liManagement of sub‑system budgets (MTF Budget, Radiometric Budget, ecc.); /li liPreparation of technical documentation and meetings for customers, subcontractors, and suppliers; /li liTesting activities at Flatsat and Flight Item levels: writing of procedure and/or test execution and reporting; /li liSupport for AIT, AIV and qualification campaigns for the Payload and Spacecraft; /li liSupport for anomalies and NRB; /li liSupport flight operations and payload operations from commissioning to routine operations. /li /ul h3GENERAL REQUIREMENTS /h3 ul liBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Astrophysics, Optics, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical fields. /li liExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams. /li liStrong system‑level thinking, results‑oriented mindset, and solid planning/prioritisation capabilities. /li liAbility to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. /li liExcellent written and oral communication in English. /li /ul h3REQUIRED EXPERIENCE SKILLS /h3 ul liDemonstrate a good understanding of Optical telescope and/or SAR technology for space application; /li liGood knowledge of satellite architecture and design and its interface with the payload; /li liCMOS and CCD sensors knowledge; /li liGood understanding of Satellite Image correction (Dark, Flat, From L0 level to L2 level); /li liKnowledge of relevant performance parameters for Optical and/or SAR payloads; /li liExperience with Python and other programming languages; /li liManagement and handling of Optical and/or SAR payloads. /li /ul h3ADDITIONAL ASSETS /h3 ul liMore than 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the aerospace industry with Optical or SAR payloads; /li liKnowledge of infrared optical systems; /li liExperience with in‑orbit operations, payload calibration, or commissioning; /li liKnowledge of ECSS and/or NASA standards. /li /ul h3WHY JOIN ARGOTEC? /h3 ul liOpportunity to work with highly motivated colleagues in a very innovative environment. /li liProfessional training and career development opportunities. /li liFlexible working time schedule and a hybrid work policy. /li liMonthly "Free‑Day" – every second Friday: time off to dedicate to your family and/or hobbies. /li liA diversified community that organizes extra‑work and fun activities. /li /ul pSalary range: from 35.000€ to 45.000€ /p pOur selection process is tailored to each role and includes at least a call with our Talent Acquisition Team, a technical evaluation, and a final in‑person meeting.
