Job Description The AliveShoes platform consists of two main components: The primary user-facing platform, including the onboarding website, shoe-building tools, e-commerce platform, and user dashboards. The internal dashboard for tracking users, products, data, supply chain, and managing content. You will work on both components, improving the current website and building new features to enhance the platform, internal processes, and data collection. You will develop front-end parts of the platform using technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, and Foundation Framework. You will develop back-end parts using Ruby, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Nginx, and AWS. You will monitor a large user base, collect data using tools like Google Analytics or MixPanel, and improve internal dashboards. You will perform scalability and maintainability improvements to increase application performance. You will conduct manual user testing and utilize testing software to enhance UI/UX. Requirements You can design scalable and maintainable software, document it thoroughly, and write automated tests. You have strong back-end skills with Ruby and Ruby on Rails. You have a good background in JavaScript. You have some experience with AWS. You have experience with PostgreSQL or similar databases. You can create professional, responsive front-end interfaces. You have strong front-end skills with JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3. You have experience with JQuery. You have a great sense of design and are a pixel-perfect practitioner. You have at least 3 years of experience in software design, have worked with professional engineering teams, or have developed applications with more than 10,000 users independently. You hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent knowledge in software design. You are analytical and capable of managing and monitoring large data loads. You possess excellent organizational skills, are a multi-tasker, problem solver, and proactive. You can execute quickly in a fast-paced startup environment. You are capable of working in multidisciplinary teams and managing other developers. You are eager to learn new programming languages and technologies, with an experimental mindset. The position includes a 3-month trial period, followed by a 1 to 3-year contract depending on performance. Compensation during trial is approximately $4,000 gross/month; afterward, around $5,000 gross/month (depending on experience). Benefits include a workstation of your choice, annual paid travel to a tech event, potential US work opportunities, and remote work options when feasible. Shareholders' equity options are available after successful trial completion, with a 3-year vesting period. The role is based in Italy (Le Marche/Milan), with potential travel to the US and Europe, and remote work possibilities. All travel expenses are covered by the company, including accommodation.
