About the role
As a Service Maintenance Technician - Security at Tesco across Leeds and Yorkshire areas, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our stores remain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike. You’ll be part of a skilled team responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of systems and equipment, helping to keep our operations running smoothly.
In this hands‑on role you will use your technical expertise to identify and resolve issues efficiently while prioritising safety, compliance, and quality. The position offers ongoing training, career growth opportunities, and the chance to be part of a leading UK retail brand.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all Tesco sites are safe and functional for customers and colleagues.
- Follow the planned work schedule to achieve first‑time fixes and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.
- Perform general day‑to‑day store and property maintenance.
- Use mobile devices (phone and tablet) to complete work and update progress.
- Represent Tesco by demonstrating core values and maintaining a positive attitude.
- Attend local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.
- Support a diverse and inclusive culture.
- Coordinate repairs with external contractors to ensure seamless execution.
- Work collaboratively with the team, maintaining high energy and efficiency.
- Assist the management team by maintaining equipment and facilities.
- Minimise customer disruption during repairs.
Qualifications
- Full driving licence.
- Health & Safety awareness.
- Proven security‑related technical skills (City & Guilds, apprenticeship).
- CCTV (analogue & IP) experience – essential.
- CCTV qualification/certification – desirable.
- Ability to install, configure and maintain CCTV equipment to industry standards.
- Experience with Hikvision, Pelco, Hanwha Techwin systems.
- Experience in a retail environment – desirable.
- Administrative skills, including IT & Microsoft Office suite.
- Customer/stakeholder escalation management.
- Resource scheduling.
- IOSH qualification – desirable.
- IPAF – desirable.
- Asbestos awareness.
