About This Role As a Senior Simulator Technician, the incumbent will support all training center operations activities to provide a smooth, efficient, and high-quality service at a brand-new Training Center in Rome, Italy. The role also aims to achieve CAE's goal of delivering world-class flight simulator training center operations aligned with CAE’s vision as a global training partner to enhance safety, efficiency, and readiness. Key Responsibilities Support technical and operational aspects of Flight Simulator and Cabin Crew Training Devices. Attend calls, perform daily readiness checks, lead flyouts, perform scheduled maintenance, and analyze Qualification Test Guides (QTGs). Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex training device issues and AOGs. Suggest and implement hardware design, refurbishment, and modifications as needed. Identify recurring issues and pursue permanent solutions. Serve as lead technical caretaker and provide technical training to other technicians. Support complex testing, troubleshooting, research, and design efforts. Maintain and support the FSTD operations Management System, including process improvements. Lead special projects and provide oversight for workforce development. Workplace Culture / Health And Safety / Environment Promote a workplace culture aligned with organizational values. Prioritize occupational safety and health metrics. Support environmental compliance activities. Qualifications and Skills Technical diploma or degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Aviation with 6-8 years of relevant experience. Legal right to work in the EU. Proficiency in English; Italian language skills are a plus. Customer-oriented with strong relationship skills. Advanced knowledge of computer architecture, networking, operating systems, and programming; ability to make minor software changes. Deep technical knowledge of hardware/software, especially motion, visual, avionics, and aircraft systems. Extensive knowledge of aircraft types, especially Airbus jets. Understanding of aviation training regulations (EASA, ENAC, etc.). Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools.
