Senior IT Automation Specialist
to design, build, and maintain the critical automation solutions that power our business. This is not just a support role; you will be a key internal consultant, transforming complex business needs—from
core payment systems
to departmental workflows—into secure, scalable, and practical automation solutions. This is a highly visible, user-facing position based full-time at our
Genoa headquarters (no remote working). You will be responsible for a portfolio of internal automation projects, collaborating directly with stakeholders across all departments. Your ability to
actively listen
and understand their challenges will be as crucial as your technical skill in developing tools, integrating systems, and enhancing daily operations for teams across the company. Key Responsibilities Design & Develop:
Architect, develop, and maintain robust automations and integrations, primarily using Python, JavaScript, and SQL. Critical Systems Oversight:
Take a leading role in automating processes related to our
payment systems, ensuring the highest standards of reliability, security, and accuracy. Internal Consultancy:
Act as a primary technical consultant for internal departments. Proactively engage with users to
listen, analyze, and map business processes, identifying high-impact automation opportunities. Project Leadership:
Manage the full lifecycle of internal automation projects, from initial requirements gathering and solution design to deployment, documentation, and ongoing enhancement. Troubleshooting & Escalation:
Serve as the senior escalation point for complex software, hardware, and workflow issues, troubleshooting problems that impact business operations. Infrastructure Collaboration:
Work alongside remote engineers and local teams to maintain and advance our shared IT infrastructure. Innovation & Research:
Continuously research, evaluate, and propose new automation tools and technologies to drive efficiency and innovation. Qualifications Must-Have: 5+ years of proven experience
in IT automation, systems integration, or a senior scripting-focused role (e.G., DevOps, SRE). Expert proficiency
in scripting and development with
Python, JavaScript, and SQL. Exceptional interpersonal and active listening skills; a proven ability to understand the "why" behind a request and translate complex non-technical needs into clear technical specifications. Strong problem-solving abilities
and a deep curiosity for understanding how complex systems function and interact. Full professional fluency in both Italian and English
(written and spoken) is essential. Willingness and ability to work 100% on-site
at our Genoa office. Excellent English level Nice-to-Have (Highly Valued): Direct experience with
financial systems, payment gateways, or high-reliability transaction processing environments. Strong experience with API integration (REST, SOAP) and system-to-system data workflows. Solid understanding of both software and hardware architectures in a corporate environment. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git). Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
