Position
We are looking for a BusinessController, 5+ Years of Experience on long-term, multi-year projects, reporting to the Head of Controlling.
The role will connect accounting, production, and project execution, and it will be involved in the following activities:
Project Controlling Business Partner
* Act as the key bridge between Project Management and Finance: translate project progress, risks and opportunities into financial language, and bring financial discipline into project execution decisions
* Partner with Business Development during the bid and pre-award phase and contribute to contract review from a financial perspective
* End-to-end economic and financial monitoring of multi-year projects
* Revenue recognition using the Percentage of Completion (PoC) method (IFRS 15)
* Budget-vs-actual variance analysis, monthly reforecast
* Periodic project reporting: cost reports, EAC (Estimate at Completion), margin analysis, cash flow forecasting
* Production and inventory monitoring
Project Accounting & Accruals
* Project-level accruals and deferrals: accrued revenues/costs, deferred items, unbilled receivables, WIP (Work In Progress)
* Support to monthly, quarterly and annual close with full economic competence entries per project
* Reconciliation between project management data and general ledger
* Liaison with external auditors during periodic reviews
Support to Multi-Currency Management
* Accounting and reconciliation of transactions in multiple currencies (EUR, USD, GBP and others)
* FX exposure monitoring at project level and support to hedging accounting and reporting
* Reconciliation between functional currency and reporting currency across project reports
Process Improvement & AI
Automation of repetitive workflows using low-code/no-code tools (e.g. Power Automate, advanced Excel) and AI (e.g. Copilot, Claude)
Mapping and streamlining of reporting and controlling processes: bottleneck identification, close-cycle time reduction, template standardization
Requirements
* Master's degree in Economics, Management Engineering or equivalent
* 5+ years in Controlling or Finance
* Experience in EPC, manufacturing, construction or project-based environments
* Hands-on experience with Percentage of Completion revenue recognition and IFRS 15
* Knowledge of SAP B1 and BOARD, or other ERP is considered a plus
* Familiarity with BI, automation and AI tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Claude) is a strong plus
* Both Fluent English and Italian
