Software engineer

Ruby on Rails Developer | Permanent & Freelance | Padua, Italy (On-Site)

We're partnering with a market-leading Italian tech company at the intersection of physical collectibles, digital marketplaces, and AI, looking to grow their engineering team with 2–3 developers across both permanent and freelance engagements.

The Work

You'll be building and evolving a suite of platforms serving collectors, operators, and commercial partners, alongside active R&D in computer vision and AI-assisted image recognition. Real ownership, no ticket factories.

Stack: Ruby on Rails (core), Python/FastAPI/PyTorch, Web Components, React Native, PostgreSQL, OpenCV, YOLO, NVIDIA DGX hardware for ML workloads. LLMs and AI coding tools are part of daily workflow, not an afterthought.

You'll Bring

• 5+ years of continuous development experience (strong juniors considered)
• Clean, well-structured code and genuine pride in the craft
• Comfort moving across the stack, UI is not someone else's problem here
• Solid OOP, SQL, and relational database fundamentals
• Confident, effective use of LLMs as a peer programming tool

The Details

Opportunities are available on both a permanent and freelance/contract basis, with packages discussed on a case by case basis depending on experience and engagement type. Long-term arrangements are strongly preferred.

Location: Padua, northern Italy, on-site focused (2–5 days/week depending on arrangement). Candidates should be locally based or within a sensible commute. No fully remote option available.
