Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Architect with deep expertise in AWS solutions, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and DevOps practices to lead the design and implementation of our cloud infrastructure. This role is crucial for ensuring that our digital platforms are scalable, secure, and cost-optimized while maintaining operational excellence through automated deployment pipelines.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives, implementing FinOps best practices to reduce infrastructure spending
* Design and implement automated cost monitoring, alerting, and governance frameworks
* Lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive Terraform modules and configurations for all AWS infrastructure components
* Establish Terraform best practices, state management strategies, and module reusability standards
* Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines
* Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using CloudWatch, ELK Stack, or similar tools
* Lead the adoption of containerization strategies with ECS/EKS optimization and orchestration.
Qualifications
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
* At least 8 years of experience in IT infrastructure, with a minimum of 5 years focused on cloud technologies
* Expert-level experience with Terraform for AWS infrastructure provisioning and management (minimum 3 years)
* Proven track record in cloud cost optimization with demonstrated savings achievements
* Strong DevOps background with hands-on experience in CI/CD pipeline design and implementation
* Extensive experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, VPC, Route 53, IAM, Cost Explorer, Trusted Advisor)
* Experience with ECS/EKS optimization and container orchestration in AWS Cloud environment
* Proficiency with version control systems (Git), automation tools, and configuration management
* Strong practical Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a cloud environment
* Knowledge of web services, API, REST, and RPC
* Experience with monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
* Ability to mentor Cloud Engineers and DevOps team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
* AWS Professional Certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional) are highly preferred
* AWS Associate Certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Administrator) are mandatory
* HashiCorp Terraform Associate Certification is a strong plus
* Experience with additional IaC tools (CloudFormation, Pulumi, CDK)
* Knowledge of FinOps frameworks and cost management tools (AWS Cost and Usage Reports, third-party tools like CloudHealth, Cloudability)
* Experience with security scanning and compliance tools (AWS Config, Security Hub, third-party tools)
* Background in a similar role within the technology or edTech sectors
* Experience in a small team or startup environment where cost efficiency is critical
* Familiarity with multi-cloud strategies and hybrid cloud architectures
