Role purpose: The Web Front End Engineering Chapter is seeking a passionate and experienced Chapter Lead to oversee our team of front-end engineers dedicated to crafting intuitive, responsive, and visually compelling digital experiences. As a leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our front-end engineering efforts, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of excellence. Key accountabilities and decision ownership: - Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the chapter's strategic direction, aligning it with the organization's overall goals and industry trends. - Team Development: Cultivate a high-performing team by providing mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities. - Technical Excellence: Champion best practices in web development, leveraging modern frameworks like React, Next.js, and SSG/SSR to deliver scalable and efficient solutions. - Performance Optimization: Prioritize website performance, optimizing page load times, animations, and responsiveness. - Security: Implement robust security measures to protect user data and prevent vulnerabilities. Required competencies, knowledge, and experience: - Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of engineers - Deep understanding of modern front-end frameworks and best practices in web development. - Experience working with headless CMS solutions. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Strong track record of driving innovation and embracing emerging technologies. - Commitment to security and data privacy. Nice to have technical and professional qualifications: - Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, CloudFront, Amplify, ). - Experience with continuous integration and delivery pipelines (e.g, Github, Jenkins) - Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress) for ensuring code quality.
