Bracco is an international Group active in the healthcare sector and a leader in diagnostic imaging. The Group's main products are contrast agents sold in over 100 countries, both directly and indirectly through branches, joint ventures and license and distribution agreements.
We are looking for a Senior Buyer, Indirect Spending to develop and implement procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts across Indirect Spending categories (non-product related), such as ICT, consultancies, professional services, facility services and general services.
The role covers an overall global spend of approximately €150M and supports several Bracco Imaging functions such as IT, HR, Marketing, HSE and General Services. The position entails end-to-end accountability, from analysing market trends, evaluating bids, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will act as a strategic business partner, leading complex sourcing initiatives, influencing internal stakeholders and building long-term supplier relationships, while actively contributing to the transformation, innovation and digitalization of procurement processes.
The position will be based at the Milan office.
Key Responsibilites
* Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and drive, develop and execute procurement strategies for assigned indirect categories, ensuring cost optimization, risk mitigation and full compliance with global company policies.
* Issue clear Requests for Quotation to qualified bidders by mean of e-sourcing tool (upon training on Bracco web-based platform).
* Lead negotiations on pricing, contractual terms and conditions with suppliers to secure the best overall value for Bracco Imaging.
* Review, finalize and manage agreements in collaboration with Legal, Finance, Risk Management and key business stakeholders, ensuring alignment with company standards and streamlining the contract awarding process.
* Partner with contract holders to maintain mutually beneficial relationship with suppliers monitoring performance against contracts and addressing any issues related to price, quality, or delivery, including agreements' amendments.
* Support Bracco Imaging functions in the definition, execution and continuous monitoring of annual procurement plans.
* Drive innovation, ensure policy compliance (prevent at minimum possible maverick buying) and manage procurement tools (i.e. ERP/SAP and e-sourcing platforms).
* Continuously research and analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities, alternative sourcing solutions and potential new vendors through ongoing market assessment, supplier scouting and onboarding.
* Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities and prepare reports on procurement KPIs.
Qualifications & Experience
* Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree and 10–15 years of experience in indirect procurement, managing at least $5–10M annual spend within structured procurement organizations. International experience is a strong plus.
* Analytical Skills: Strong ability to perform spend analysis, evaluate bids and identify cost-saving opportunities using a data-driven approach.
* Negotiation Skills: Proven track record in negotiating complex contracts and commercial terms.
* Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
* Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
* Languages: Fluent English and fluent Italian are mandatory for this role.
* Systems & Tools: Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) and e-sourcing platforms.
* IT Knowledge: Good understanding of IT hardware, software and related services is highly appreciated for this role.
