CONTEXT & ENVIRONMENT:
At the heart of CHANEL’s superior client journey, the Fashion Boutique Operations Manager ensures that the boutique team is equipped with the data, product and tools to constantly delight clients. Responsible for ensuring the boutique environment, product availability, personnel and processes uphold CHANEL’s leading luxury stance, the Fashion Boutique Operations Manager drives the efficiency of the boutique. Overseeing the back-office teams and ensures the day-to day function of the boutique, while constantly anticipating business evolution.
YOUR MISSION:
Motivating the back-office teams to create the conditions that promote an expectation-exceeding client journey.
1. Conveying the House Strategy to the relevant teams, ensuring objectives are understood and executed effectively
2. Managing the back-office team in terms of recruitment, leadership, and setting and monitoring individual goals of team members, performing PMP (retail title for Year End Retrospective) and providing regular follow-up through one-to-one conversations
3. Identifying development areas of team members and formulating action plans, including training programmes, to enhance skills and performance
4. Enthusing the team with positive leadership and encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing with complementary functions in the boutique
5. Supporting and encouraging Chanel Vital Behaviours across the team
6. Supervising the management, organisation and optimisation of after-sales activity in boutiques without a dedicated Client Manager
Enabling retail teams to reach and exceed sales objectives by ensuring effective and responsive stock management.
7. Supervising the organisation and optimisation of inventory to ensure product availability
8. Staying alert to out-of-stock or over-stock situations and proposing corrective actions; managing stock transfers
9. Ensuring the absence of inventory discrepancies
10. Overseeing the organisation of stock-taking
Ensuring the financial health of the boutique by optimising running procedures.
11. Supervising cash management within the boutique
12. Building the working schedule in collaboration with the management team for optimal floor coverage and sales support
13. Overseeing all maintenance, IT, security, catering and administrative functions for the boutique, both internally and externally
14. Ensuring the boutique reflects CHANEL’s standards of luxury to support the client experience on the floor, and that the back-office offers an efficient and nurturing environment for staff
15. Provisioning the boutique with required supplies
16. Implementing the Boutique Charter in the back-office and ensuring all cash, inventory and security procedures comply with regulations
17. Taking a leadership role of expertise over all processes and procedures and supporting the team in the adoption of new procedures
18. Reporting on stock performance to the Boutique Manager to optimise Buying Sessions
19. Reporting on stock flow to the Sales Manager to optimise sales performance
20. Monitoring retail indicators such as turnover, sell-through, boutique traffic and proposing corrective actions where required
21. Monitoring the operational costs of the Boutique
Driving future growth for the Boutique by embracing innovation and continual improvements to operational efficiency.
22. Contributing to projects to implement new tools & services in the Boutique in order to continuously improve the client experience and operational efficiency
YOUR EXPERTISE:
23. Degree in Business Engineering or Economics and Management
24. 4 or 5 years experience as Retail operations (not necessarily in the luxury sector)
25. Project Management skills
26. Initiative and organizational talent
27. Good expression and collaboration driven (capacity to integrate and federate teams)
28. Very proficient in the use of MS-Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
29. Good Italian and English language skills, good knowledge of French is desirable.
